Darren “Dynamite” Appleton becomes our Patron

It is with great pride that I can officially announce that the pool legend and future hall of fame member ‘Dynamite’ Darren Appleton has agreed to become the patron of the British W

Appleton2

heelchair Pool Players Association (BWPPA)

Darren has been raising funds for the 5 BWPPA players going to the World Wheelchair 9-ball Championships in December in South Africa.

He has been doing this by auctioning some of his playing shirts from his big events, and this raised a total of £550 for the team, he also got his good friend Luke Riches from Matchroom Sport involved and he auctioned a signed frame poster from all the 16 players who
attended the recent World Pool Masters in Barnsley, this raised £210 and Luke’s partner Zana also donated £200, so overall £960 has been raised in just a few weeks.

After the auction had finished Darren saidCongratulations and thanks so much to the winning bidder Dawn Bell for bidding on all 3 shirts to raise funds for the British wheelchair players to go South Africa, and to the other donators.

I want to thank you all, and I wish you all the best in South Africa, it’s a great country and you guys inspire me so much it makes me emotional, and you have given me the great honor to be a patron for the wheelchair tour, which I humbly accept and I will do my best to raise the profile of the tour, and help you all with fundraising.
It is an honor for us Darren to have you as our patron.
